Why I built Momento
Sometimes, a message from someone you love means everything.
Momento started with a simple thought: I wish I had more videos of my grandmother.
The people we love won't always be there to answer the phone. Momento was created to help us hold onto those little moments, and create new ones while we still can.

What is Momento?
Momento is a video alarm clock. You create an alarm and invite friends or family to send video messages that can play when the alarm goes off.
Do my friends need the app to send me a video?
Currently, yes. Your friends and family will need to download the Momento app to send you a video message. The iOS version is coming soon.
Can I keep videos a surprise?
Yes. Surprise Momentos stay hidden until they play on your alarm.
Can I approve videos before they play?
Yes. You can require approval before a Momento is allowed to play on your alarm.
What if someone sends something I don't want?
Only people you invite can send you Momentos, and with approval turned on nothing plays until you say so. If you receive a Momento you don't want, you can delete it and remove the sender from your friends list.
What if a video can't load or I have no signal?
Every video makes an attempt to download before your alarm goes off. If the video can't download in time, your choosen fallback video (set at alarm creation) will play instead. The fallback videos can be default videos, previous Momentos, or a video you upload yourself.
Will my alarm still go off in silent or Do Not Disturb mode?
Yes. Momento alarms will play even if your phone is in silent or Do Not Disturb mode. However, some phones may require more permisions to allow this. If you have trouble with this, please reach out to us at contact@momentoalarm.com.
Is Momento free?
Yes, Momento is free to download and use. We may offer premium features in the future, but the core experience will always be free.
Who can see my videos?
Only the friends you send Momentos to can see them. See our Privacy Policy for more information.
Is Momento available on iPhone?
Yes, Momento is available on iPhone. You can download it from the App Store here.
Does Momento use AI?
No. Momento doesn't use AI, and every video is recorded by a real person.
